Types of Fever
Fever refers to increase in the body temperature than the normal range. There are 5 types of fever. 1. Intermittent Fever Intermittent fever is a type of fever characterized by fluctuating baseline between normal temperatures. The fever subsides over the course of the day. 2. Remittent Fever This type of fever does not touch the baseline despite its fluctuating course. 3. Hectic Fever In hectic fever, the fluctuating temperature ranges between 14 degrees Fahrenheit. 4. Continuous / Sustained Fever The continuous fever remains the same throughout the day. 5. Relapsing Fever The relapsing fever subsides and occurs again after interval of few months.
