Imaging for Diagnosis of Dengue Ultrasound findings help in diagnosis of dengue by revealing spenomegaly, hepatomegaly, pleural effusion, ascites and increased gall bladder wall thickness. However, it is very important to note that ultrasound is not a recommended imaging criteria for the diagnosis of dengue. Negative predictive value and low sensitivity do not make ultrasound eligible for diagnosing an infectious disease.
