What is retrograde ejaculation?
When on ejaculation the semen enters the bladder instead of emerging through the penis is called retrograde ejaculation. This is also called a dry ejaculation. It is the cause of male infertility. The condition is caused by weakness of the neck of bladder muscles that normally contract in ejaculation to prevent entering of sperm in bladder. This weakness can be caused after a surgery (bladder neck surgeries, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection surgery or testicular cancer), medication induced or nerve damage caused by diabetes, MS or spinal cord injury. Sign and symptoms are: very low to no semen on climax, cloudy urine after climax and infertility. The condition is not harmful in itself but requires treatment for infertility. Diagnosed with urine examination. Treatment is usually removing the cause if medical and if post-surgical then medicines like: imipramine, midodrine, chlorphenarmine, ephidrine and phenylephidrine.
