Subconjunctival Hemorrhage

Subconjunctival Hemorrhage

Subconjunctival hemorrhage is a benign condition of the eye that occurs due to the rupture of the conjunctival blood vessels. It is characterised by the appearance of one or more blood spots on the white of the eye. Sometimes the bleeding is extensive so a larger area of the eye appears red. Despite its appearance it is actually a painless condition and sometimes the patient doesn't even know that he/she has the condition until he/she looks in the mirror.
