Hemolytic anemia means decrease in the RBS because of excessive breakdown of RBCs. And increased bilirubin levels are found, the bilirubin is unconjugated because of increased catabolism.

Hemolytic anemia is characterized by increased destruction of red blood cells. Bilirubin is gotten from the breakdown of hemoglobin found in red blood cells and it is conjugated by the liver. Due to the increased destruction of red blood cells, there is production of more bilirubin than the liver can conjugate so there is an increase in the level of unconjugated bilirubin.
