What is the pathophysiology for dengue?
Pathophysiology of Dengue • Virus infects and the Langerhan cells • Virus undergoes replication • To limit the spread of virus, langerhan cells release interferons • The infected langerhan cells alert the immune system by entering the lymphatic system • After lymphatic system they enter the blood circulation • This results in viremia i.e. high level of virus in blood • Immune response activates thus, increases lymphocytes and reduces neutrophils • Pyrogen increases fever and high blood pressure • High blood pressure causes rashes
