Accessory Navicular Bone (AKA~ Accessory Navicular Syndrome, Navicular Secundum)

Accessory Navicular Bone (AKA~ Accessory Navicular Syndrome, Navicular Secundum)

Accessory ossicles are common along the medial superior border of the navicular, contiguous with the posterior tibial tendon. Patients present with chronic foot pain, and plain radiographs reveal an accessory navicular in some but not all patients. Accessory navicular bones are often associated with pes planus (Flat Foot).
