Hi! 🙂 Can anyone explain me what a nutmeg liver is? I'm preparing for an anatomic pathology exam, I'd like a macroscopic and microscopic description please.

Nutmeg liver is chronic passive venous congestion. It is due to RHF, IVC obstruction or portal hypertension. Macroscopically liver is enlarged and cut surface give nutmeg appearance. Microscopically see the central ischaemic coagulative necrosis and peripheral fatty change in hepatocyte.
