Hydrochloroquine and Azithromycin for COVID-19 Treatment Hydrochloroquine is used for the treatment of malaria, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. There is no clinical evidence that encourages the use of Hydrochloroquine and against SARS-CoV-2.
Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to cover atypical Bacterial infections secondary to COVID 19. Hydrochloroquine interferes with antigen processing and hence decrease the inflammation. Since multi system inflammation was caused by COVID 19 Hydrochloroquine was used to decrease inflammation for symptom relief.
