Double-Balloon Enteroscopy

Double-Balloon Enteroscopy

Double-balloon enteroscopy is done by a special apparatus that have enteroscope with balloon coupled with an overtube with balloon. These two balloon are inflated and deflated sequentially to achieve greater insertion depth within the bowel with the help of loop reduction. This procedure is usually used to visualise the small bowel for different pathologies but can be used for other gastrointestinal sections too.
