Pityriasis Versicolor

It is a common yeast infection of the skin in which flaky discoloration appear on the chest and back. Mostly effects trunk, neck and arms. Patches might be copper brown, paler than surrounding or pink. Its usually asymptomatic but might be itchy. It caused by mycelial growth of fungi of the genus Malassezia. It is treated with topical antifungal creams. Like topical azole cream, selenium sulfide, terbinafine gel.
