A type of assisted reproduction method in which a third party has the child for the couple or a single person who wants to have a child. This might be done in situations like life threatening risks in case of pregnancy or infertility is present. There to 2 ways it can be done which also decides the relation of the couple to the baby. 1) Traditional: in vivo fertilization of the egg of surrogate. This makes the off-spring related to the donor and surrogate mother. 2) Gestational type: in this scenario egg and sperm is fertilized artificially and an embryo is placed in surrogate. This off spring is unrelated to the surrogate. Surrogacy has many legalities. A legal contract is signed before this arrangement.
