Only 10, now 11 known cluster O bacteriophages were found world wide. Most are typically round shaped but as you can see this is corndog shaped. This was discovered underneath a musty haybail by our research team paired with SEA-PHAGE and Howard Hughes. A Bacteriophage is a virus that infects specific bacteria, killing them off. It is harmless in humans, due to its specificity. Future research hopes to use bacteriophage research to discover new phages for selective antibiotic resistant bacterial strands.
