MORPHINE ACTIONS: Analgesic, Euphoria in patients suffering from pain or addiction, Respiratory Depression, Emesis, Antitussive, GIT effect decreased GI secretions, Diarroeha, Hypotension, Bradycardia, Inc. Biliary Pressure, Sedative, Labour prolong, Histamine release, Dec, secretion of sex hormones especially testosterone, Miosis. MORPHINE ADVERSE EFFECTS: Nausea, Hypotension, Constipation, Respiratory Depression, Allergy, Idiosyncracy, Dysphoria, Urinary Retension, Potential for addiction. MORPHINE PHARMACOKINETICS: Orally is slow, IM or SC given, distributed widely, cross placenta but only less amount cross the BBB and in excreted renally.
