Cutis Verticis Gyrata (CVG)

CVG refers to deep folds on the scalp that look similar to folds of the brain. It occurs more commonly in males and after puberty. It may occue alone or in association with variety of underlying conditions or treatments including neuropsycgiatric disorders, eye abnormalities and inflammatory conditions. Managment includes keeping areas wihin folds clean and surgery might be required for cosmetic reasons.
