Urea breath test (UBT) is one of the most accurate non-invasive test available for the initial diagnosis and/or post-treatment status of H.pylori. This test works by processing of urea that contains the labeled carbon by the H.pylori urease generating ammonia and CO2. This CO2 (containing the labeled C) is absorbed into the bloodstream and later exhaled which is detected and quantified.
