Bullous pemphigoid is an autoimmune disorder characterised by the formation of fluid filled blisters in the skin. This condition is commonly seen in older adults and involves areas like lower abdomen, upper thighs and armpits. This is caused as a result of deposition of autoreactive IgG antibodies and its complement in the epidermis.
