Dysphagia is a medical terminology that is used for the sensation of difficulty in swallowing. Dysphagia can occur either due to oropharyngeal causes or due to oesophageal obstruction or affected motility. Some of the common causes include: strictures, malignancy, oesophagitis, achalasia (dysmotility), bulbar or pseudobulbar palsy, myasthenia gravis and others.
