Celiac disease is a chronic gluten-sensitive enteropathy that results due to an immunologically mediated inflammatory response that occurs against the gliadin part of the ingested gluten. This disease usually presents with GI symptoms such as diarrhoea and abdominal pain along with other extraintestinal symptoms such as anaemia, osteopenia, skin disorders and hormonal imbalances. The main management of this condition is strict gluten-free diet that can halt this condition to a great extent.
