Proteus syndrome

Proteus syndrome is a rare disorder caused by the activating mutations in AKT1. The person suffering from this syndrome has asymmetric overgrowth of different body tissues like bones, skin, muscles, blood, lymphatics, etc. The person may suffer from many complications like malformed skeleton, blood vessels, tumours of benign or malignant origin and skin diseases.
