When a person is in shock the body organs and tissues fail to receive sufficient blood supply. Insufficient blood supply indicates insufficient oxygen delivery. Dropped level of oxygen in body switches the body metabolism from aerobic to anaerobic. In anaerobic metabolism, glucose converts into lactic acid. Thus, in shock the lactic acid to pyruvate ratio is high causing lactic acidosis. So we can say, dysoxia or hypoxia in shock causes lactic acidosis.
