Dupuytren’s contracture also called Viking disease or Celtic hand is a condition where a visible deformity develops on hand due the the thickening of the connective tissue or fascia underneath the skin. This results in abnormal flexion of fingers. It is of idiopathic aetiology but certain factors like smoking, family history, alcohol consumption, thyroid disorders and diabetes predisposes to this condition.
