Management of liver cirrhosis includes the following. - Quit alcohol at once - Choose a diet with low or no sodium at all. Sodium retains fluid which worsens edema and ascites. - Choose healthy diet. This condition drains energy out of patient and the person experiences malnutrition. Eat legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs, fish, and poultry. Avoid eating raw seafood. - Take good care of hygiene so you don’t catch infections. - Make sure you consult with your doctor before taking any medicine no matter how harmless they might seem to you. Liver is the most important site for the metabolism of drugs. Liver cirrhosis does not allow smooth metabolism of drugs therefore choose drugs wisely.
