Raynaud's Phenomena

It is a medical condition in which spasm of the arteries causes episodes of reduced blood flow. Typically the fingers and less commonly the toes are involved. The episode results in turning effected part white or blue. They tyoically last minutes but can also last hours. It can be triggered by cold or stress. Raynaud's has two main types. Primary, when the cause is unknown and secondary, when its due to a known condition the body. It can occur due to connective tissue disorders like scleroderma or lupus, injuries, smoking, thyroid issues and certain medication. Primary treatment is to avoid cold and any kind of drug use that causes the condition like nicotine or stimulants.
