Nabothian Cysts

Nabothian Cysts

Nabothian cysts are the mucus-retention cysts, that appear as small, white, pimple-like elevations on the surface of the ectocervix. They are caused by the blockage of endocervical mucous glands by squamous metaplasia occurring with the transformation zone of the ectocervix. They are more common in females of reproductive age and their treatment is generally not required.
