Oesophageal manometry is a procedure that measures the function of the upper esophageal sphincter (UES), the body of the esophagus, and the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) with regards to the motility and pressures built. This test is usually done when there is suspicion of over or under activity of the sphincters due to any underlying pathology due to which the patient is symptomatic.
