Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

A laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a form of surgery in which the surgeon will remove your gallbladder. The surgeon will make a small incisions on the right side of your abdomen (belly). The surgeon uses one incision to insert a laparoscope and other incisions are made to insert a thin tube with a camera on the end. This will allow the surgeon to monitor the whole procedure and view gallbladder on a screen. At the end of this procedure gall bladder is removed through one of the incisions. This procedure is quite safe as compared to open cholecystectomy and has been the main stay of treatment in cases of gall bladder diseases.
