Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a condition when normal round shaped appearance of cornea changes to a cone shaped conformity. It is type of astigmatism which is caused due to loss of collagen in one of the layers of cornea and hence it is unable to hold its shape. A patient with keratoconus is unable to focus without aiding lenses and can develop photosensitivity. Unfortunately, it's a chronic condition which can persist for life.
