Following are the indications for inserting a pacemaker. - Sinus node dysfunction - Chronic Bifascicular Block - Trifascicular Block - Neurocardiogenic syncope and hypertensice carotid sinus syndrome - Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy - Cardiac resynchronization therapy in patients with severe systolic heart failure - Acquired Atrioventricular (AV) block - Prolonged atrioventricular delay - Sinoatrial arrest i.e. Asystole or recurrent long sinus pauses - After acute phase of Myocardial Infarction (MI) - Post cardiac transplantation - Atrial fibrillation - Reentrant SVT - Atrial flutter - Pacing to detect and terminate tachycardia - Patients with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) - Recalcitrant VT - Mobitz type 2 second degree heart block - Prolonged QT interval
