Diverticulitis is the occurrence and inflammation of small pockets or pouches in the lower part of large intestines. Diverticulitis occurs after the occurrence of Diverticulosis which is simply the formation of pouches in the colon. Symptoms of diverticulitis range from mild to severe. The symptoms usually don’t occur when the condition is in the initial stage but when it advances symptoms occur. The symptoms of diverticulitis are - Persistent stabbing pain on the lower left side of abdomen and sometimes it occurs on right side - Nausea - Vomiting - Malaise - High fever - Tenderness and pain in the abdomen - Constipation - Bloating - Blood in stools - Rectal bleeding
