Do patients of Extracapsular neck of femur fracture have shortened and externally rotated limb?

In Extracapsular neck of femur fracture, the patient rarely has a shortened and externally rotated limb. This occurs only when the distal fragment moves proximally. Shortened and externally rotated limb is the feature of Intracapsular neck of femur fracture.
