My opinion motivation lead to dedication

I tend to agree...Dedication means to commit time, purposefully. In the time you’re committing you’re going to discover if you have the motivation to continue, or not...motivation means having a reason to do something. And of course if you don’t have a reason, you’re not going to be dedicated. So they go hand in hand.
