Reflex arcs

Reflex arcs

The anatomy of reflexes (the neurons, the wiring, afferent and efferent and interneurons, the spinal cord, lower motor neurons vs upper motor neurons, and that sort of thing). We'll look at muscle stretch (myotatic) reflexes and withdrawal (flexor) reflexes. I noticed in this video that I refer to muscle stretch reflexes as tendon reflexes. This is because I work with medics a lot, and this is the term that gets used. Be aware that the stretch receptors are in the muscle, and not the tendon. The tendons tend to be the bit that gets tapped when testing reflexes though. Music by Jahzzar Album: HiFi City Tales Song: Bodies https://soundcloud.com/jahzzar
