Cerulean/ Blue-dot Cataract

Cerulean/ Blue-dot Cataract

This type of congenital cataract is characterized by scattered, dotted bluish opacities in the lens. The opacities appear blue as a result of light dispersion- a mechanism similar to the blue appearance of the sky. It often remains asymptomatic and does not interfere with vision.
