What is the reason of happening metabolic alkalosis(high bicarbonate levels in blood with high ph) and respiratory acidosis(low ph and low Pco2)?what are the treatments and managements?

Metabolic alkalosis- milk alkali syndrome (excess antacid ingestion), vomiting (stomach acid is lost), increased aldosterone levels (increased H+ excretion in urine), drugs such as loop and thiazide diuretics Management is directed at correcting the underlying cause but in cases where metabolic alkalosis accompanies fluid loss (vomiting, diuretics, hyperaldosteronism) infusion with normal saline is needed. Potassium supplements may also be needed

Respiratory acidosis- decreased ventilation due to any cause, morphine overdose foreign body in the airways, respiratory distress, COPD, neuromuscular diseases when they affect the diaphragm and costal muscles. Treatment will be aimed at correcting the underlying cause however, as per protocol the airway and breathing need to be secured first.
