Is it systolic BP or diastolic BP which increases with progressing age in older individuals?
Depends on person health but if we link it with Atherosclerosis which is most common cause of High bp and cardiovascular disease so I would say diastolic because it is artery’s which shows resistance to diastolic bp while systolic bp is mainly concerned with Heart pumping
Pretty sure because there are certain drugs which is used to lower down systolic bp what actually that drug does to body is that it cause pooling of venous blood as a result less amount of blood will pass to left ventricle and lead to lower down systolic bp Now if to lower down the diastolic bp we use drug which cause dilation of arteriol so as a result diastolic bp lowers down
its systolic which increases as age progresses search isolated systolic hypertension and diastolic decreases with age
Thanks brother But let me know if you know the reason that how the systolic bp increase and diastolic decrease because as far as I know and once I study doc najeeb lecture he use the same phenomenon as I mentioned earlier but any way thanks
I checked on uptodate and also medscape etc and also various books they said its becyof the arteriosclerosis which effects big vessels and they become stiff aorta as the age progresses which will increase systolic bp
That’s ok But how the diastolic bp decrease? Are the arteriols which show resistance to diastolic bp they became dialte or what?
In the hypertention systolic raised age increase but diastolic change due to ill toxic cardiopulomenar&anemia in both ^age or >age
