Liver and pancreatic enzymes explained | AST, ALT, GGT, ALP, Amylase& Lipase

What are the liver function tests (or LFTs)? They are a group of blood tests that help you assess the liver function (hepatocytes). In this medical lecture, we discuss alanine transaminase (ALT, formerly SGPT), aspartate transaminase (AST, formerly SGOT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)...We also mention pancreatic enzymes such as amylase (less specific because there is also a salivary amylase) and lipase (more specific).
