Purkinje Cell
Purkinje cell is a wonderfull cell. First of all, it’s gorgeous. This is in the mouse. So, we’re talking about a cell body that’s maybe 20 microns in diameter. In the human it’s more like 50 to 75 microns in diameter. Another amazing feature about purkinje cell is that dendrite, but it’s litered with spines. These are little spines, and you can see that they’re just spines that dot every single dendrite. Finally, I want to point out is the axon. Purkinje cell is amazing cell. It forms own layer within the cerebral cortex. I am very moved by the aesthetic of neurons that look so gorgeous like this.
