Seen in HbH disease(alpha thalassemia) In absence of alpha globin chains, Beta globin chains of HbA forms tetramer called Hemoglobin H. Tetramer of beta globin chains(inclusion inside RBC) in hemoglobin H gives the appearance of golf ball.
