Victor Horsley - AANS History Films

Sir Victor Horsley was a true physician scientist, and the first surgeon appointed as part of a neurological department (at Queen Square, in London). He performed the first removal of an intradural spinal tumor, coined the term “stereotaxis”, and invented the first stereotactic frame. He was known to be a fierce advocate for his patients and for political causes, and died in military service in Iraq during World War I.
