Recurrent episodes of fever along with pain in abdomen, chest and/or joints, constipation followed by diarrhoea. It is a genetic disorder that mainly is seen in Mediterranean descent,hence the name. It is treated with colchicine

If untreated, there will be excess production of amyloid A which causes amyloidosis which causes organ damage like kidneys, arthritis, infertility in women,etc
