As we practiced on imitation skin (kind of plastic) I found that it was very hard; the material is not very flexible. I would recommend getting a simple suture kit (amazon) and do the actual sutures on a piece of pig with skin. This resembles human skin a lot more! Also, after a while the imitation skin is worn out because of all the little puncture holes...
