▫️▫️Adenomyosis▫️▫️ Extension of the endometrial tissue into the uterine myometrium, related to increased levels of estrogen. It is most commonly located in the fundus and posterior uterus. Diagnosis: ▫️Clinical: enlarged, soft, “boggy uterus” TENDER! ▫️Imaging: diffusely enlarged uterus with cystic areas ▫️Definitive diagnosis: pathology examination after hysterectomy ▫️Most patients are asymptomatic +/- menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea ▫️Rx: IUD, hysterectomy
