It wouldn't, kinda should use medicine like mupirocin ointment can help if it hasn't abscess formation.

Im thinking it’s a hair stuck under the skin, given the tab of thicker brown hair coming out of it

Simple ingrown hair, pull out the hair and add some Neosporin
