Medically assisted death allows couple married almost 73 years to die together

The Brickendens are one of the few couples in Canada to receive a doctor-assisted death together, and the first to speak about it publicly

If the health conditions don't require it ( I mean the patient just want to die cause why not and not because of the pain or very limited life for example paralysis from the neck) I don't support it then. (sorry for my English)

I personally don't like it, but as a medical practitioner would consider this option if my patient wanted it.

The name should be assisted killing . And no country should allow this kind of terror 😞

I feel that is a selfish thing to say but it is your opinion but If you would rather one suffer with no will to live then you might want to get a little compassion that’s all

i can't do this...it is their choice but i consider this as a suicide and i can't help anyway!

I 100% support it if the person is going to die of something where they will no longer be able to function such as paralysis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease or a major stroke, etc. I do not support it if it’s just to die together. No one should have to suffer. We put animals down so they don’t have to suffer because we consider it inhumane, why would we make people suffer.

My opinion is very simple if you have been in the medical field for any length of time couples who are married for long periods of time do often die very close to the passing of the spouse !! Whether it be due to “ broken Heart” of just the fact that they don’t wanna live so they either try to kill themselves or just starve until. They pass. Either way. They were married 72 years why not let them follow their vows “ Till Death do is Part Together” I say support their decision !!!!

Their choice. I am not in a position to judge but I am also not going to help as my nursing ethical code and my state practice act prohibits it as a medical professional.

Life is a precious thing, and is incredibly valuable to the individual holding it, that being said they have every right to decide what they do with their life even if that means ending it.
