Case of Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva.
Shown in this picture is the extensive extra bone formation on the back of a patient. . FOP is a congenital disorder of connective tissue characterized by congenital malformations of the big toe, and progressive heterotopic ossifications as shown here in this picture. Diagnosis can be made by evaluating the levels of alkaline phosphatase. There is no cure for this condition.
