Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis ABPA is a hypersensitivity reaction that requires treatment with oral corticosteroids. Inhaled steroids are not effective. Adding oral itraconazole to steroids in patients with recurrent or chronic ABPA may be helpful.
