Hey :) Does anybody know about use of the botulin toxin for prevention of tetanus (and in later stages tetanic spasm) ... botulin toxin prevents acetilholin vesicle fussion with presinaptic membrane and thus Ach from binding to Ach dependent nikotin receptors on postsinaptic membrane therefore ther is no contrection of the muscle cell, on the other hand tetanuc toxin binds to nikotin receptors on postsinaptic membrane and leaves them open, contraction of muscels is constant and it may lead to tetanic spasm ... could we prevent this with addition of botulin toxin ? And additional does anybody know anything about use of kurare by operations (I know that it leads to relaxation of muscles which can make operation easier, but it can also lead to suffocation due to relaxation of breathing muscles, how (or with what ) can we end kurare effect at the end of the operation ?
