Heterochromia?? Can some explain plz?

Curious....why does heterochromia put a person at risk for blindness....I would have thought not

My understanding is that it is just a too little/too much pigment issue which doesn't affect vision my info comes from having kitties with different colored eyes....,guessing humans would be the same😺
