Why does TE play such an important role for DWI? There are many reasons, but two good reasons to lower the TE would be decreasing susceptibility artefact, and at the same time increase SNR. Lower your FOV phase in A-P direction till the liver (less phase encoding), will allow you to further decrease the TE. Don’t add FOV phase oversampling to avoid foldover, this will only increase the TE. Instead, add saturation bands anterior and posterior.
